Chickpea form a great nutritional plan for vegetarians as they are an excellent source of protein. A daily serving can provide sufficient amount of proteins with low calories.When i was in kerala,My mom prepared this kadala curry for me.Its really healthy breakfast for me.







Ingredients

100 g Channa Dal(soaked for 3 hours)
1 medium sized onion (Chopped)
2 tomatoes(chopped)
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon jeera
Corainder leaves(for garnish)
Spring onion(for garnish)
1/2 cup water
salt to taste

Directions

Keep black channa immersed in water, till soft. Pressure cook it with enough water, turmeric powder and salt. Heat oil in a pan.Add jeera and when they start to splutter, add finely chopped onions,  and fry, till the onions turn brown.




Add chopped tomato and stir well, till tomato blends. Add gingergarlic paste and stir well. Add chilly powder, garam masala,tumeric powder and stir well, till the aroma of masala comes out.Add enough water and white channa and cook, till water starts boiling.



Boiled this curry for 10 minutes.Now kadala curry is ready.Garnish with corainder leaves and spring onion.Serve hot with appam and puttu.
